“APHA – Into the Future``

The action plan included:

  1. The role of the newly appointed Business Improvement Officer.
  2. The major benefit of local training, the need to engage with PLaN groups and the Operational Board which represents the thoughts of on the ground Officers.
  3. The future of Technical Committees.
  4. Addressing the confusion in acronyms caused by the Animal & Plant Health Agency which may result in a name change for the Association .
  5. The AGM to be held in November – to be accompanied by a low cost training event.
  6. The revision of the competency and best practice standard for Port Health Authorities and Officers and the training needed to achieve this
  7. A major reduction in the size of the operational management structure with the associated cost savings which will be needed to support PLaN groups etc.
